Marianna Clampett
Marianna Clampett is the former vice president of government, Latin America and Canada operations for SAS, the largest private software company in the world. She was also one of SAS' key strategists, involved in identifying business strategies across the business lines of sales, marketing, alliances, service delivery and operations in SAS Americas. Since assuming the job in 2001, Clampett dramatically increased SAS' presence and sales in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. The results include a 43 percent increase in sales from 2002 to 2003. She's also overseen a 13 percent increase in public sector sales, which includes federal, state and local government; higher education; and K-12 education. Under her leadership, SAS Canada has expanded its operations and has enjoyed an average yearly increase in new business of more than 100%.
With more than 20 years of experience in sales and operations in the high-tech industry, Clampett previously served as vice president of Americas sales for Onyx Software Corporation. Before joining Onyx, she was president of SAS Americas and SAS vice president of U.S. Commercial Sales. In that role, she directed the operations of eight geographical regions with more than 400 employees, generating more than $500 million in sales. Prior to joining SAS, she held sales and marketing positions of increasing responsibility within the Dataflow Companies and Datec Inc.
In April 2001, Marianna was named to Upside magazine's list of Top 50 Women in Technology. She also served on the board of DataFlux, which was acquired by SAS in 2000. Clampett earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
