Tim Buckley

Tim is the former chief operating officer for Red Hat (NYSE:RHT) the world's premier open source and Linux provider. As COO, Tim used his insight to accelerate the momentum of open source and expand Red Hat's worldwide business, service and support operations. Prior to Red Hat, Tim was senior vice president of worldwide sales at Seattle-based Visio Corporation, where he was instrumental in growing the company from a start-up to a public company that was acquired by Microsoft for $1.5 billion.

During his 20-plus years working with emerging technology companies, Tim has helped launch many other successful start-ups, including Aldus, known for the creation of PageMaker and which was acquired for $525 million and Approach, a PC database company that was sold to Lotus. Tim served on the board of SmartPath, which was acquired in March 2004 by DoubleClick (Nasdaq:DCLK) and as an advisor to MySQL, which was acquired by Sun Microsystems for $1 billion. He currently serves on the board of ChannelAdvisor, a Southern Capitol Ventures portfolio company. Tim graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Liberal Arts.
